Akash Negi

Education: BA English Literature; M.A.Ed. Intervention Specialist; both from Malone University.

 

Previous work experience: I have been a substitute teacher at Akron Public Schools for 5 years while playing music in a band and attending graduate school. I also just finished teaching summer school programs for fourth-grade students at Akron Public Schools Summer 2021. I also worked as a graduate assistant at Malone University for the Department of Education for 2 years.

 

Hobbies and interests: Playing guitar and writing songs, reading novels and poetry, traveling to visit friends and family, making curry dishes, camping, basketball, and hanging out with my pitbull named Priya.

 

Why did you choose to work at Prospect Hill Academy?: While I am new to the Boston area, I connected with the school mission statement of high expectations and a commitment to support students through restorative practices. I also believe I will receive effective training and feedback to grow as an educator. I am so excited that my role brings together skills and interests from my English studies as well as my training in providing special education services!
