Prospect Hill Academy Charter School (PHA), a K-12 college preparatory school in Cambridge and Somerville, is at the forefront of promoting and supporting the participation of young women and girls of color in computer science and technology-related fields.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley has named three Somerville students as the winner of the Congressional App Challenge in Massachusetts 7th district. Prospect Hill Academy’s Syalomee Pradhan, Lavanya Goel and Victoria Eduardo submitted Opportune, an app designed to help students locate after school activities.

Longtime friends Leonardo Paul '20 and Joshua Elysee '21 attended the same charter school in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and neither was content wearing the required uniform. In fourth grade, Elysee paired a tie with his polo shirt. In high school, he sewed camouflage patches onto his khaki pants. On monthly dress-down days, Paul would coordinate outfits inspired by his favorite musicians, including jeans he distressed himself. But it wasn’t until they got to Bentley that they discovered a shared dream to launch a clothing line that would soon evolve into Jefe Clothing.

Several Adviser Investments colleagues represented the firm at Prospect Hill Academy’s first “Third Thursday” supper of the 2019–2020 academic year on November 15, serving food to PHA families and enjoying spirited company over a hearty meal.

After three impactful years with The Possible Project, Prospect Hill Academy graduate Beza Wondwossen is heading to Bryn Mawr College to continue her studies.
